Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills - 2 Days

The need for Effective Communication Skills in their employees is the catch cry of many organisations today. Successful communication is vital to any business. It is also an extremely important skill for us as individuals. There are key interpersonal skills that impact our ability to be part of a team within the organisation and these are assertiveness, influencing and conflict resolution skills.

The ability to use these skills combined with effective communication strategies will be the focus of this workshop. The programme will provide proven techniques to enhance communication with customers, within teams and with management. Drawing on the interpersonal skills of assertiveness, influencing and conflict resolution the course provides the opportunity for delegates to practise and take away useful frameworks and techniques that can be applied straightway in the workplace.



Active Assertiveness - 1 Day

Assertiveness skills lie at the heart of good interpersonal communication. Beyond your technical or professional ability, your success depends directly on the impact you make on others. The most difficult thing about work is often not the job itself, but how we deal with other people.

By developing assertiveness, you can adapt your behaviour to achieve greater success in both social and business interactions. This 1-day session will provide tools and techniques on how to become more assertive and how to relate to people at all levels. Being able to manage your work environment assertively puts you in control of your daily activities, which leads directly to more productivity, greater work effectiveness and a positive attitude when faced with stressful work situations.



Body Language and NLP - 2 Days

Non-verbal communication, or body language, is a vital form of communication. When we interact with others, we continuously give and receive countless wordless signals. All of our non-verbal behaviours – the gestures we make, the way we sit, how fast or how loud we talk, how close we stand, how much eye contact we make – send strong messages. The way you listen, look, move and react, tells the other person whether or not you care and how well you are listening. The non-verbal signals you send either produce a sense of interest, trust, and desire for connection – or they generate disinterest, distrust, and confusion.

Neuro linguistic programming (NLP) is a successful and well documented process to assist in many interactions. NLP gives you the tools to observe someone, take the tools that they use to do well and then replicate it. If someone is successful then why not use the techniques they have learnt to be successful, ourselves? This course will help you present a stronger impression, understand people and develop relationships both in business and your personal life. A must for all Sales staff!



Conflict Resolution - 1 Day

Wherever two or more people come together, there is bound to be conflict. This course will give participants a six-step process that they can use and modify to resolve conflicts of any size. Participants will also learn crucial conflict resolution skills, including dealing with anger and using the Agreement Frame.



Business Writing Skills Level 1 - A (2 Day Programme)

This Business Writing Skills Level 1 course focuses on accuracy and clarity in written communication. Participants will learn to recognise any areas for growth in their own writing, and familiarise themselves with standard business correspondence formats, such as memos, emails, letters, and reports.

This course will use authentic and meaningful exercises to help participants build accuracy in English writing in their work and day-to-day lives.



Business Writing Skills Level 2 - A (2 Day Programme)

This course will focus on increasing familiarity with more sophisticated writing formats and tasks, such as requesting, complaining, and writing proposals and reports. The course will consist of grammar and formatting techniques, with a focus on interactive activities and exercises to give participants the opportunity to practise their business writing skills on the course, and receive constructive feedback.



Professional Emails - Half Day

Email has become an important means of communication in business. We use emails to communicate internally to our work colleagues. We are also using emails more and more to communicate with customers, suppliers and business partners. Unfortunately, we do not always display the same professionalism in our emails as we do with other forms of business communication.

This course tackles the common challenges professionals face in writing clear and effective emails. It also helps the participants to organise their emails and not become a slave to them.



Captivating Presentations - 3 Days

When asked in a survey, it was revealed that Public Speaking was more feared than death itself. It is possible to develop your skills so that you not only control the fear, but also deliver an interesting and engaging presentation, leaving the audience wanting more. And yet, how many times have you had to ‘endure’ presentations that are hard to understand, have no benefit to you and did not deliver what you wanted? Whether your presentation is to an individual or a large group, you will need to prepare the outline carefully in order to successfully get your message across to the audience.

This course will introduce some of the key steps and a concept that can be adapted to suit a variety of presentation needs. A set of tools and techniques will guide you in planning and designing your presentation and then prepare you for the delivery, and avoid the common pitfalls that make the difference between a dynamic and meaningful presentation rather than a dull and boring one.



Advanced Presentation Skills - 2 Days

Once participants have attended the Captivating Presentations training and had an opportunity to actually deliver presentations, they will come to understand that there is more that can be done to get that ‘edge’, when it comes to really engaging and captivating any audience. Presenters need to appear confident and competent if they want to ‘hold’ attention.

It’s not enough to ‘know’ how to deliver, Presenters need to be coached and identify how they can ‘fine-tune’ what they are already doing. This workshop coaches participants to take it to the next level and leads them on a journey of discovery that culminates in a fun but important team challenge to be the best.



Running Effective Meetings - 1 Day

Research has shown us that Managers spend up to 25 % of their week in meetings and according to Koontz, 90% say more than half that time is wasted. Meetings are notorious time wasters in the eyes of many people. There is often some truth in this. Meetings can eat into people’s time preventing them from being more productive. This in turn indirectly results in a financial cost. It also means that unless you can demonstrate great productivity in these meetings, both you and your team are losing out.

Properly run meetings are an essential means of communication between two or more people. They can save time, generate ideas, solve problems and increase motivation and productivity. It is therefore imperative, that we should be doing everything we can to ensure the success of the meetings we lead and or participate in. This course is designed to sharpen your skill-set in how to maximise meetings and ensure they are run efficiently and effectively.
