Proactive Planning and Organising - 2 Days

Planning and Organising skills enable people to establish a course of action for themselves and others to accomplish specific results. The purpose of this workshop is to develop or expand Planning & Organising skills that support the continual growth and success of the individual, department and the organisation. Participants assess their planning, organising and time management skills; prepare long-range and short-term goals that support the mission of the institution and department; develop measurable objectives to support goal attainment; differentiate between urgent, important, and not urgent action items; and engage in proactive planning.

Participants will learn and practise methods for identifying and prioritising daily tasks, as well as balancing short-term and long-term goals. They will learn to use an array of tools to help them plan and prioritise, which will eventually lead to more control over their daily routine and tasks, and help them gain greater confidence in their daily life.

Stress Management - 1 Day

The word ‘stress’ is used to describe the physical and/or emotional response to the demands and pressures that modern living exposes us to, from time to time. Stress can be a positive thing, which drives us on and helps us to grow, develop and be stimulated. However, when stress reaches a certain level, it can overcome a person’s ability to cope and can impact on their physical and mental health.

This 1-day session has been developed to help participants identify the causes and effects of stress and to assist them in developing the skills required to manage stress in their own life. The focus is on the positive things that they can do to make changes in their life, which will reduce the impact that ‘bad’ stress places on people. It also focuses on making time for relaxation, and learning healthier coping strategies.

Time Management for Peak Performance - 1 Day

Research has consistently demonstrated that when clear goals are associated with tasks, effective Time Management occurs more easily and rapidly. In order to manage time efficiently there are a number of skills to learn, understand and practice first.

In order to be productive with time and focus effectively on important tasks people need to identify what prevents them from achieving their goals. This workshop progressively takes participants on a journey of discovery over 7 progressive modules that include practical activities and analysis with feedback so that each participant gains a full understanding of how and why the techniques work.

The workshop aims to address those in an informative and relaxed way through learning, experience and understanding. It encourages practical application through exercises and activities that can be transferred to the workplace and other areas of life easily. By practising the tools and techniques that work effectively to improve Time Management each participant will be able to take away from the training, their own strategies to motivate them and continually improve.

Active Assertiveness - 1 Day

Assertiveness skills lie at the heart of good interpersonal communication. Beyond your technical or professional ability, your success depends directly on the impact you make on others. The most difficult thing about work is often not the job itself, but how we deal with other people.

By developing assertiveness, you can adapt your behaviour to achieve greater success in both social and business interactions. This 1-day session will provide tools and techniques on how to become more assertive and how to relate to people at all levels. Being able to manage your work environment assertively puts you in control of your daily activities, which leads directly to more productivity, greater work effectiveness and a positive attitude when faced with stressful work situations.

Body Language and NLP - 2 Days

Non-verbal communication, or body language, is a vital form of communication. When we interact with others, we continuously give and receive countless wordless signals. All of our non-verbal behaviours – the gestures we make, the way we sit, how fast or how loud we talk, how close we stand, how much eye contact we make – send strong messages. The way you listen, look, move and react, tells the other person whether or not you care and how well you are listening. The non-verbal signals you send either produce a sense of interest, trust, and desire for connection – or they generate disinterest, distrust, and confusion.

Neuro linguistic programming (NLP) is a successful and well documented process to assist in many interactions. NLP gives you the tools to observe someone, take the tools that they use to do well and then replicate it. If someone is successful then why not use the techniques they have learnt to be successful, ourselves? This course will help you present a stronger impression, understand people and develop relationships both in business and your personal life. A must for all Sales staff!

Problem Solving & Decision Making - 2 Days

Problem solving and decision-making are important skills for business and life. Problem-solving often involves decision-making, and decision-making is especially important for management and leadership. There are processes and techniques to improve decision-making and the quality of decisions.

In the past few decades, psychologists and business people alike have discovered that successful problem solvers tend to use the same type of process to identify and implement the solutions to their problems. This process works for any kind of problem, large or small. This workshop will give participants an overview of the entire creative problem solving and decision-making process, as well as key problem solving tools and techniques that they can use every day in their decision-making.

Emotional Intelligence - 2 Days

Emotional Intelligence (EI), is defined as a set of competencies demonstrating the ability one has to recognise his or her behaviours, moods, and impulses, as well as those of others, and how to manage them best according to the situation.

This course will give participants the tools they need to be emotionally intelligent in their workplace. An employee with high emotional intelligence can manage his or her own impulses, communicate with others effectively, manage change well, solve problems, and use humour to build rapport in tense situations. These employees also have empathy, remain optimistic even in the face of adversity, and are gifted at educating and persuading in a sales situation and resolving customer complaints in a customer service role. This action-packed two-day interactive programme will help you understand Emotional Intelligence, yourself and others.

Negotiation Skills - 2 Days

Every day we are surrounded by negotiating opportunities. Whether dealing with an important contract at work, asking the boss for a pay rise or just trying to get our children to go to bed, these are all potential negotiations. The fact is that most of us regularly negotiate without even realizing, we are doing it. That does not mean we are always effective negotiators, rather we can sometimes fare very poorly. Fortunately, negotiation is a skill that we can improve by understanding and practising the processes involved. This workshop will give participants an understanding of the phases of negotiation, tools to use during a negotiation, and ways to build ‘win-win’ solutions for all those involved.
